NK foliar fertiliser PhytoGreen Organic NK 4-6 10 litres

CHF 38.00 incl. VAT

Nitrogen and potassium from sugar beet vinasse — 4 % N, of which 3.6 % is organically bound and of plant origin, plus 6 % water-soluble K2O.

Listed on the FiBL input list for organic farming in Switzerland.

The nitrogen comes as protein and amino acids, not as a salt. Soil microbes mineralise it, so it is released more slowly than from a mineral fertiliser. The C/N ratio of 6.5 is narrow enough to avoid nitrogen lock-up — and the 26 % organic carbon feeds the soil life at the same time.

Via irrigation at max. 5 %, via the leaf at 0.4–1.5 %. Foliar application can leave spray marks — so do not apply to russeting-prone pome fruit varieties or during flowering.

Description

What makes vinasse special

Vinasse is the residue left from sugar beet processing after molasses fermentation. The nitrogen is present as protein and free amino acids — the plant only gets it once soil microbes have mineralised it. That is slower than with a mineral fertiliser, but without a leaching peak.

With 26 % organic carbon and a C/N ratio of 6.5, the product feeds the soil life at the same time without causing nitrogen lock-up. It also contains 2.5 % Na2O sodium — a nutrient for sugar beet and fodder beet, but a reason to keep rates low in salt-sensitive crops and on saline soils.

Liquid organic fertiliser NK (CaO-MgO-Na2O-SO3) 4-6 (0.3-0.1-2.5-0.3), PFC 1(A)(II). Raw material: sugar beet vinasse.

Application

Crop Rate Note
General, all crops With irrigation max. 5 %; via the leaf 0.4–1.5 % For direct soil application in fruit and wine growing also at higher concentration
Pome fruit, stone fruit and berries, viticulture Irrigation max. 5 %; leaf 0.5–1.5 % From the start of vegetation, repeat if needed. Not during flowering; for russeting-prone pome fruit varieties also not in the russeting-critical phase
Vegetables, propagation 0.4–0.8 % via the leaf 2–4 applications from the 2nd true leaf
Vegetables, main growth 5–8 l/ha 2–4 applications
Cereals, sugar beet, maize 4–8 l/ha via the leaf 1–2 applications from the start of vegetation; sugar beet from the 5–6 leaf stage until canopy closure
Mediterranean plants, ornamentals, citrus 0.4–0.8 % via soil or leaf Repeat several times

Shake well before use. Miscible with common plant protection products — since not every combination can be foreseen, always run a small-scale mixing test with the intended products.
