Organic Liquid Calcium

CHF 72.00

Liquid calcium fertilizer, 8.0% CaO (water-soluble calcium oxide) for rapid uptake via the leaf. To improve assimilation performance, for higher yields: 4–8 l/ha or

2% w/v (2 l/100 l water) for foliar sprays.

The application of Bio NPK 2-1-10 can be combined with other foliar fertilizers and compost tea. (except sulfur and magnesium sulfate)

Description

Liquid calcium fertilizer for rapid uptake via the leaf.

Calcium stabilizes cell walls and thus strengthens plant tissue from the inside out. Good calcium supply increases tissue firmness, reduces microcracks, and makes it harder for fungi and bacteria to penetrate. Young, fast-growing plant parts in particular depend on a continuous calcium supply, as calcium is hardly redistributed within the plant.

Calcium also regulates cell division, controls membrane stability, and improves nutrient efficiency, especially in interaction with nitrogen and potassium. In stress situations such as heat, drought, or strong vegetative growth, calcium uptake via the roots often decreases—foliar application closes this supply gap in a targeted and fast way.

Adequate calcium supply reduces physiological disorders such as leaf necrosis, blossom-end rot, internal browning, or bitter pit, thereby indirectly lowering disease pressure. Healthy, calcium-stable plants are less susceptible to secondary infections and show higher assimilation performance as well as better storage and harvest quality.

Application

Wine grapesMultiple applications at 6–8 l/ha from visible inflorescences until one month before harvest
Pome fruitFor fruit firmness, to prevent bitter pit and physiological storage disorders: Multiple applications at 6–8 l/ha from petal fall to harvest (for russet-prone varieties only from walnut size).
Stone fruitFor calcium supply and improved assimilation performance: 2–3 applications of 6–8 l/ha from the start of flowering to harvest.
StrawberriesFor calcium supply: 3–4 applications of 6–8 l/ha from the start of flowering to harvest.
Vegetable productionFor calcium supply: Multiple applications at 4–8 l/ha as soon as sufficient leaf mass has developed; repeat every 12–15 days as needed.
PotatoesTo improve assimilation performance, for better yields, for calcium supply: 1–2 applications at 8 l/ha from the start of row closure.
Sugar beetsTo increase storage stability of late beets: 4 l/ha with the last fungicide spray. Before that, if needed, 2 l/ha with fungicide measures.
Ornamental plantsFor leaf quality, for calcium supply: 6–8 l/ha every 10–15 days as soon as sufficient leaf mass has developed.
Tank-mix compatibilityUse caution when mixing with sulfur- or copper sulfate-containing products, as precipitation may occur. PhytoGreen® Organic Calcium is generally compatible with copper hydroxide and other common crop protection products. However, since not all practical contingencies can be foreseen, a jar test with small quantities of the products intended for spraying is advisable in all cases.
