Mode of action and benefits
Iron foliar fertilisers are specially developed for application to the leaves. Iron (Fe) is an important nutrient for plants, necessary for the formation of chlorophyll, which is required for photosynthesis. A deficiency of this nutrient can lead to various growth problems in plants, such as yellowish leaves, low resistance to stress factors and reduced yield performance. Acute nutrient deficiencies can be quickly counteracted by application to the leaf.
Chelated nutrients improve absorption and plant availability for optimal nutrient uptake.
The application of the iron foliar fertiliser can be combined with other foliar fertilisers and compost tea.
Application and dosage
Crop | Application rate |
---|---|
General | Prevention and elimination of iron chlorosis: 2-5 l/ha over the leaf (0.5-1%), 5-8 l/ha over the soil or 0.5% over irrigation. |
Viticulture | 4 applications with 3-5 l/ha after budbreak to grape closure as foliar spray. |
Pome fruit | Leaf stage, fruit set, yield: 3-5 l/ha each at full bloom, flowering, short post-bloom and hazelnut size as foliar spray. Smooth skin, against greasiness, prevention and elimination of iron chlorosis: 1-2 times with 5 l/ha as foliar spray from walnut size. |
Stone fruit | 1-2 times with 3-5 l/ha from fruit set to harvest as foliar spray. |
Berries | 1-2 times with 3-5 l/ha from the beginning of vegetation until harvest as foliar spray. |
Arable crops | Several times 3-5 l/ha as foliar spray. |
Ornamentals | 4 times 30-50 ml/100 m2 (3-5 l/ha) as foliar spray. |
Mediterranean and citrus plants | 0.5-1% as foliar spray. |
