Manganese foliar fertilizers are specially developed for application to leaves. Manganese (Mn) is an essential trace element for plants, required for various processes in plant metabolism. A deficiency of this nutrient can lead to various growth problems in plants, such as reduced growth, leaf discoloration, and leaf damage. Foliar application can quickly counteract an acute nutrient deficiency.

The chelation

A chelate is a chemical compound in which a metal ion is bound to a larger organic molecule, the chelating agent. This bond forms a complex that is both stable and soluble. The chelating agent usually forms multiple bonds with the metal ion, creating a ring-like structure. This unique structure of the chelate increases the stability and bioavailability of the metal ion and prevents it from precipitating or becoming inaccessible to plants or organisms.

Grapevines	2–3 times 2–3 l/ha as a foliar spray from visible inflorescences
Pome fruit	Apply as a foliar spray: several times 2–3 l/ha from hazelnut size. For a greener background color, 3 times 2 l/ha from walnut size.
Stone fruit	2–3 l/ha from fruit set (foliar spray).
Strawberries	1–2 times 2 l/ha as a foliar spray from start of flowering to harvest.
Vegetables	1–2 times 2–3 l/ha as a foliar spray once sufficient leaf mass has developed.
Potatoes	1–2 times 2–3 l/ha as a foliar spray from 1 week after emergence.
Sugar beets	2–3 times 2 l/ha as a foliar spray from the 4-leaf stage.
Cereals	For winter hardiness, yield, lodging resistance: in autumn 2–3 l/ha as a foliar spray from the 3-leaf stage.
