Registered as a farm input at the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL).

Content: 10 litres

Description

Mode of action and benefits

  • For the direct supply of manganese
  • Corrects and prevents manganese deficiency in all crops
  • Water-dissolved carboxylates
  • sRapid uptake and processing in the plant
  • Excellent plant tolerance

Manganese foliar fertilisers are specially developed for application to the leaves. Manganese (Mn) is an essential trace element for plants, necessary for various processes in plant metabolism. A deficiency of this nutrient can lead to various growth problems in plants, such as reduced growth, leaf discolouration and leaf damage. Acute nutrient deficiencies can be quickly counteracted by application to the leaf.

Chelated nutrients improve absorption and plant availability for optimal nutrient uptake.

The application of manganese leaf fertiliser can be combined with other leaf fertilisers and compost tea.

The chelation

A chelate is a chemical compound in which a metal ion is bound to a larger organic molecule, the chelating agent. This bond forms a complex that is both stable and soluble. The chelating agent usually forms multiple bonds with the metal ion, creating a ring-like structure. This unique structure of the chelate increases the stability and bioavailability of the metal ion and prevents it from precipitating or becoming inaccessible to plants or organisms.

  • Improved nutrient absorption: Chelated nutrients are more readily absorbed by plant leaves, ensuring efficient nutrient uptake.
  • Improved nutrient use efficiency: Chelated fertilisers increase the availability of nutrients to plants so that they can efficiently take up and utilise the important elements.
  • Rapid nutrient delivery: Chelated foliar fertilisers deliver nutrients directly to the plant's leaves, enabling rapid uptake and utilisation.
  • Targeted nutrient application: The application of chelated fertilisers to the plant leaves enables the targeted correction of specific nutrient deficiencies and promotes balanced plant nutrition.
  • Corrective measures for deficiencies: Chelated fertilisers can quickly correct nutrient deficiencies in plants, preventing or mitigating potential yield losses or negative effects on plant health.
  • Increased plant growth and development: Chelated foliar fertilisers provide the necessary nutrients for optimal plant growth, resulting in better overall development, yield and quality.
  • Reduced risk of nutrient loss: Chelation helps prevent leaching or immobilisation of nutrients in the soil, reducing the risk of nutrient loss and ensuring nutrient availability to plants.
  • Compatibility with other fertilisers: Chelated foliar fertilisers can be easily combined with compost tea, fertilisers or other agents for convenient and efficient application.
  • Environmentally friendly option: Chelated foliar fertilisers can be applied in smaller quantities compared to traditional fertilisers applied to the soil, reducing the risk of environmental pollution.
  • Flexible application methods: Chelated foliar fertilisers can be applied by foliar spraying, drip irrigation or fertigation systems, allowing flexible application according to crop requirements and growth stage.

Application and dosage

CropApplication rate
GeneralPrevention and correction of manganese deficiency: 2-5 l/ha (0.5-1%) over the leaf, 5-8 l/ha over the soil.
Viticulture2-3 times 2-3 l/ha from shoots visible as foliar spray
Pome fruitApplication as foliar spray: Several times 2-3 l/ha from hazelnut size. For greener background colour 3 times 2 l/ha from walnut size.
Stone fruit2-3 l/ha from fruit set (foliar spray).
Strawberries1-2 times 2 l/ha from the beginning of flowering until harvest as foliar spray.
Vegetables1-2 times 2-3 l/ha as soon as sufficient leaf mass has developed as foliar spray.
Potatoes1-2 times 2-3 l/ha from 1 week after emergence as foliar spray.
Sugar beet2-3 times 2 l/ha from 4-leaf stage as foliar spray.
CerealsFor winter hardiness, yield, stand strength: in autumn 2-3 l/ha from 3 leaf stage as foliar spray.
