Description

Mode of action and benefits

  • For boron supply - - as a water-soluble formulation
  • Promotes meristem growth, , ensures uniform flowering & good fruit set
  • Promotes ripening
  • Secures the yield

Boron foliar fertilisers are specially formulated for foliar application. Boron (B) is an important nutrient for plants, necessary for various processes in plant metabolism. A deficiency of boron can lead to various growth problems in plants, such as stunted growing tips, reduced growth and reduced yield performance. Application to the leaf can quickly counteract an acute nutrient deficiency and improve plant health.

Made from water-soluble borethanolamine, which is much less harmful to the environment than the raw material borax used in most boron fertilisers.

The application of boron leaf fertilizer can be combined with other foliar fertilizers and compost tea.

Application and dosage

CropApplication rate
GeneralFor boron supply: Foliar fertilisation 0.5-3 l/ha in 200-400 l water/ha, 4-8 l/ha for soil fertilisation.
ViticultureFor good flowering, fruit set and more even leaves: 2 foliar applications of 0.5-1 l/ha as soon as the leaves have increased in size.
Pome fruitFor good flowering, fruit set and pod quality: 1 l/ha each at the red bud stage, balloon stage and flowering; 2 l/ha after harvest over the leaf.
Stone fruitFor good flowering, high fruit set: over the leaf 2 l/ha from the beginning of flowering + 2 l/ha after harvest.
StrawberriesFor good flowering, high fruit set and against deformed berries: over the leaf 1 l/ha at the green bud stage, 2 l/ha in autumn.
HopsFor good shoot and flower development: from sufficient leaf mass until the beginning of flowering 3-5 applications with 0.1% (100 ml/ 100l spray water).
CornFor pollen quality, grain set: 3 l/ha from 4 to 10 leaf stage over the leaf.
Leafy and cabbage vegetablesFor internal quality, against heart necrosis: 2-3 l/ha as soon as sufficient leaf mass is developed as foliar fertilisation.
Root and fruit vegetablesFor good fruit set: 2-3 l/ha over the leaf as soon as sufficient leaf mass has developed.
PotatoesFor internal quality: 1-2 times 1 l/ha over the leaf from the end of the row.
RapeFor uniform flowering and ripening, yield: over the leaf 3 l/ha in autumn from 4 to 6 leaf stage, repeat in spring before flowering starts in case of severe deficiency.
Winter cerealsTo prevent yield losses during drought, 1-2 applications of 0.5 l/ha each (BBCH 30 – 37).
Sugar beetAgainst heart and dry rot: 1-2 times 3 l/ha from 4 to 6 leaf stage until row closure over the leaf.
